Safety First (and Second, and Third….)

We work with a lot of cool tools and hardware on our team, and while these enable us to be able to create awesome things, they also pose a risk if not used properly. In order to ensure that we can continue pursuing our wildest dreams and craziest ambitions, we require all members to complete Basic Safety Training before they begin department training.

Basic Safety Training

Note that these steps do not allow you to start using power tools, but these are required for entry and use of the workshop.

1. Review the FIRST 2023 Safety Manual.
2. Review the Team 3128 Workshop Safety Rules.
3. Review the Team 3128 2023-34 Safety Training presentation.
4. View the following 7 minute Safety Video on YouTube.
5. Once you are accepted onto the Team, the Basic Safety Quiz will be sent via email. You must pass with an 85% or higher.

Mechanical Only

1. Review the 2023-24 Mech Safety Presentation.
2. Once you have been accepted into this Department, the Quiz will be sent to you. You must pass with an 85% or higher.

Note: You may not use power tools until you pass the department-specific training.

Controls Only

1. Review the 2023-24 Controls Safety Presentation.
2. Once you have been accepted into this Department, the Quiz will be sent to you. You must pass with an 85% or higher.
